Getting The Wiggles Out

Apparently Beck has the Christmas jitters or something. We couldn't stop laughing when we saw him trying to get his wiggles out. He only does it if he's on tile floors and you have to ask him if he can wiggle. So funny! Enjoy!

I Am Such A Slacker!

It has been over a month since I posted anything to my blog. What a slacker! I don't think I even remember much of November. It kind of went by in a blur for us here. Beck is 7 months old today. I can't believe how big he is. He is loads of fun. He's trying to scoot around now and can give kisses. We took a video of him giving kisses and it just makes me laugh to watch it. I think it will be one of those things that no matter how bad your day is you can't help but smile when you watch him. At his last Dr. visit he weighed 15lb 15 oz. and was 28 inches tall. I guess thats good. I don't actually know.

Cambelle is totally loving kindergarten, which I think we all knew she would. Last week they made a ginger bread man and while they were at recess it "ran away". The class spent all week looking for it throughout the school and each day a different person would see it like the principal or the secretary or one day it was in the library reading. Cambelle was so worked up over the gingerbread man though that she wouldn't even go out in the halls at school to get her backpack because she was afraid the gingerbread man would be waiting for her. She even thought it followed her home and she wouldn't sleep in her own room all last week. Luckliy for us they finally found the gingerbread man on Friday and they all got to taste him. I think she's still a little worried though. She quite the skeptic that it was the same gingerbread man that ran away.

Cody has started his basketball season again, which is always fun. Seriously, I enjoy it. It gives us somewhere to go at least one night a week. He is on two different teams this year. His Double D Bolt team that he has been on for 5 years is awesome. His brother Donovan is even on the team this year which makes it even more fun. I think for the season right now they are 5-0. Pretty Good!
I think the biggest news in our family has to do with me though. I figured I would save it for last that way if you didn't read the whole blog you wouldn't know. I'll see who really reads my blogs. Anyway, in November we found out that I am pregnant again! YAY! Seriously I am excited. The day we found out I think I was in shock. No, I know I was in shock. After all the time it took us to get our 2nd baby, a third one shows up unexpectedly. Cambelle and I say it will be a girl and Cody is cheering for another boy. I guess we'll see. My official due date is June 24th. For those of you keeping track, yes, that is only 13 months after Beck was born. I am super excited and a little nervous. Everyone says it will be like having twins, but I think it will be totally different. Not that I know the difference, but this way I will have one that is walking and a newborn and to top it all off, Cambelle starts full time school in first grade in August. It will be an adventure. The Lord knows all things and for some reason he knew we needed another little Sampson around. Maybe someday He'll fill me in on the plan. Anyway, that is our family caught up for the month. Hopefully I'll blog again before the New Year, if not Happy Holidays!

Halloween Fun

This year for Halloween Cambelle decided to be something scary instead of the usual princess. She chose a mummy. I was going to make Beck a mummy costume too, but never got around to it. Luckily, a day or two before Halloween Cody thought up a great costume for him. A bag of cookies. It turned out to be super cute. And it seriously is a bag of cookies. We just emptied the bag and cut leg holes and slid it on the little guy. Simple enough.

We had a great time trick or treating with some of Cody's high school buddies and their kids. We also hit up the Neways accounting department where my sister works. They give out the best stuff. All in all I think we made off with quite a stash of candy. Hooray for sugar! Oh and an update on Cody, he's doing tons better! He even went to work. He's going to try basketball tonight, we'll see how that goes. Thanks for everyones concern and prayers.

Church Ball!

Who of us have not had someone get hurt at a church basketball game. I think everyone that has ever played has been injured at one time or another. Unfortunately for Cody it seems to happen more often than not. Especially here in Payson. When we first moved to Payson he started playing up at the Stake center and came home with a black eye and a gouge in his back. Aren't we supposed to play nice? He's had multiple sprained ankles and who knows how many scrapes and bruises. Well this weeks injury takes the cake! Wednesday night he went up to the stake center for ball and we all decided to go along. We hadn't seen Dad all day because he worked until 9 p.m. so it was a good chance to at least be near him. Most of the games went well until near the end. There was a guy there, not from our stake, who was playing pretty physically and getting underneath Cody on rebounds and wrapping him up trying to steal the ball. From the looks of him he totally thought he should have been the #1 pick for the NBA draft if only he were a foot and a half taller. Anyway, Cody went up for a rebound and this guy pushes him in the back on the way down. As Cody lands he lands like a ton of bricks. He collapsed to the floor and is apparently in agony. Cody slid himself off the court and then left the gym barely walking. Apparently he threw out his back. They think it is probably a sprained ligament, but that ligament is so screwed up that they can't put his back back in. Now for those of you that know Cody, you know what this is going to do to him right. His work is all lifting and physical labor. So for at least the next week and a half he is totally out of commission. The worst part is that his real basketball season starts in a week. It will be sad to miss those games. I think I will just be glad when Cody is back to being Cody. It's not fun to see him in pain constantly and he will probably be totally sick of me in a week and a half. Spending 24/7 with me might not be his idea of a good time. But maybe it will be good. I can talk all I want and he can't even walk away. That 's my silver lining to all this. Good quality time with my hubby. Feel better soon Cody.

Welcome Fall!

It's finally here, FALL! This is my favorite time of the year. I thought that most people loved spring or summer, but asking around, Fall seems to be just about everyone's favorite. I love when the leaves change but most of all I love the smell. Fall just smells so good. It just doesn't get any better than this.

We have a family tradition that Cody and I started when we were first married and that is to go on a fall hike. Cambelle has changed the name to "The Leaf Hunt". We used to go up by Sundance in Provo canyon, but now that we live in Payson we decided to go a little closer to home. We all piled in the 1976 International Scout and drove up the canyon. The colors were amazing. Beck slept the whole way and Cambelle talked the entire time (not uncommon for either of them).

Cody had gone on a hike the week prior with the YM/YW to the Grotto and said it was something Cambelle would love, so that is where we set out for. The grotto is an easy little trail. You get to cross the stream about 6 or 7 different times and then you finally make it to the waterfall. In spring the water fall and pond is huge, but not quite as big in fall. It was still beautfiul. Cody and Cambelle deciced to do the rest of the hike to the top of the waterfall while Beck and I stayed down at the bottom. Much too steep of a hike for mom and baby. All in all it was a perfect time.

5 months

Beck is 5 months old now. Well give or take a day or two. I can't believe how time flies. We went to the doctor on Thursday and he weighed in at 14lb. 14oz. and 26 1/4" tall. He's come quite a ways from 7lb 10oz and 21" long when he was born. I think he will be fairly tall. I can't imagine why he wouldn't be though. Cody and I are both fairly tall people. Cody especially. Beck rolls over, can sit up if you sit him in his boppy, eats oatmeal, and up until last night was sleeping 10 hours at night. His personality is so much fun. He smiles at everyone and loves to talk. His version of talking is actually high pitches squealing, but it is so cute anyways. Cody asked me the other day what I thought he would be like when he is older. Like with Cambelle we knew she would be social even when she was a baby. You could just tell. I think Beck will be the same in that regard. I definatly think he will be all boy though. Sound effects and all. I think he will be very active, like most boys, because he is non-stop now. I also think we could have some trouble with the girls when he is a little older. What girl wouldn't fall head over heels for those baby blue eyes and dark hair. I know I did. Well here's to another great month with our baby boy.

Soccer Star!

This was Cambelle's first year playing soccer, and she did awesome! The first game we weren't to sure, but their team did great. Cambelle is surprisingly agressive on the soccer field. She went after the ball, and wasn't afraid to run up and steal the ball away from the other players, even her own teammates. She even scored a goal! The coach said at the beginning of the season that the most important thing to kids this age in soccer are the treats at the end of each game, but Cambelle would get pretty upset over the other team scoring a goal and especially over a loss. Don't know where she would get such a competitive side? The only time Cambelle kind of checked out of the game was when she was goalie. For some reason she would lose all focus and we would see her twirling up in the net and goofing off. Luckliy there were 3 other girls on her team that weren't so into the game and preffered to be goalie instead of running. So here's to a winning season of soccer. Great job Cambelle!

Rice Cereal

Beck is 4 months old now, and ready for some solid foods. I don't know if he's more ready or if I am? I seriously can't keep up with his stomach much longer. He is hungry about every 2 hours. It's like having an enormous newborn. Beck gobbled up the rice cereal the first two or three times we fed it to him, but now, he's done with it. He gets so mad when you try to feed it to him now. He's even figured out how to cry without swallowing the rice cereal I shove in. Too smart. I'm gonna have to try oatmeal or something else, because there is no way he's putting up with rice cereal.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Last night we spent the evening at the Orem Owlz baseball game. It was the last home game of the season, and our friends Cortney and Jill invited us. Before the game there was a BMX bike show going on outside the stadium and we stopped and watched a couple of cool bike tricks. We even got free stuff, which Cambelle loved. Here are Cambelle and Cody showing off their biker looks.

We had a fun time, although I don't think I even watched one full inning. We got general admission seating and if any of you have ever been to an Owlz game, you will know that that means you get to sit on the grass. Normally that wouldn't be a challenge, but the incline of the grass is probably at a 45 degree angle. We kept sliding off our blankets down the hill. The kids thought it was super fun. Who doesn't love rolling down a huge hill, right? There was only on incidnet and luckily it didn't invlove any of our kids. A kid was trying to catch a home run ball and put his glove up and didn't see the ball coming and it hit him smack in the head. He was ok though after about 20 minutes. I'll bet he has a huge goose egg today though. Thanks again to Cort and Jill and their cute family for a fun night out!

Payson Onion Days

Labor day weekend in Payson meens it's Onion days! I really don't have any idea why it's onion days, but as a Payson native, I must celebrate. On Friday night there was a football game, followed by some awesome fireworks. My parents live close enough to the High School that we can watch the fireworks up close from the comfort of their backyard. It was so much fun. Most of my family and a few others joined us for the festivities. Beck actually liked the fireworks, which surprised me a little since he doesn'y usually appreciate loud noises and these fireworks were loud! Monday was the parade. It started out just fine. A little overcast but not too cold. About 30 minutes into it Cody called ( he was at work in Springville) and told me to head for cover there was a big storm headed south that had just hit the area he was in. We moved our chairs over to a close by tree and prepared to just wait the storm out. Probably not the best idea. It ended up pouring rain, hailing, lightning, and bowing for a good 45 minutes. We were soaking wet and freezing cold. When the storm moved in it brought with it a cold front that dropped temperature from 70 degrees down to 47. The kids did fine. I think it was the adults that were the most miserable. After we dried off from the parade, we went to my Mom and Dad's place for a picnic (indoors, of course) and a birthday party for my nephew Jared. That evening we ended out the day with Cody's dad and we went down to the carnival. Can you believe it cost $10 for two rides for Cambelle. That's ridiculous. Fortunately for Cambelle, Grandpa Sampson will do just about anything for her. Cambelle and Grandpa rode the ferris wheel and then just Cambelle rode the merry-go-round. All in all it was a great holiday. can't wait for next year.

Remuda RoundUp

We went to David's horse auction this afternoon and had a good 'ol time. Cambelle tried and tried to convince Cody to buy a baby horse for her. She even said she would find it a place to live close by so she could take care of it. Unfortunately for Cambelle she doesn't have Dad tied around her little finger quite that tight.
